FAQs

What kind of items can you take?

We can take away any non-hazardous items that two people can lift, such as construction materials, renovation debris, yard waste or even an old couch or mattress. Other junk examples include: appliances, household and office junk, lumber, concrete, freezers, washers & dryers, old newspapers, computers, televisions and more. If you’ve got something else to remove and you don’t see it on the list, that’s no problem! Just let us know what it is.

What items can’t you take?

We are not licensed to carry hazardous materials in our trucks. Please call your local city recycling center for help with disposing of any hazardous materials.

What happens to the junk?

Environmental responsibility is important at Trash N Dash. We recycle and/or donate as much as possible. We are committed to improving our environmental practices and currently recycle and donate to the following:

  • Thrift stores and charitable organizations
  • Non-profit housing programs
  • Metal recyclers
  • Wood recyclers
  • Electronics and computer recyclers
  • Glass and bottle depots

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash is always KING however we also accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

How do I estimate my junk volume?

Our truck team will size up your junk and review our price list with you before they begin the job. However, if you would like to conduct a DIY quote:

  • Place it in an neat stack
  • Measure the length, width and height in feet.
  • Then multiply the three measurements ( L x W x H = cubic feet)
  • Lastly divide the cubic feet by 27 (cubic feet ÷27 = cubic yards)
  • The pictures below are examples of precisely 1 cu. yd.

Why would I use your service rather than a dumpster or roll-off bin?

Why pay for days or even weeks of having an ugly dumpster or roll-off bin sitting outside your house or building? Instead, you can have us come with our truck and have two strong people do all of the labor and clean-up for you. Also, you only pay for the amount of space your junk takes up in our truck – with a dumpster or roll-off bin, you pay for the whole thing, whether you fill it or not!

Why can’t you give me an exact price before I book a job?

Our pricing is based on volume and includes all the labor, hauling and landfill fees. It’s very difficult to get a good idea of the amount of room your junk will take up in our truck without seeing it first. Our truck team will provide you with a free no-obligation price quote after they review your items that need to be removed.

Why are jobs booked in two-hour time slots?

This allows our drivers to be prepared for events as traffic delays or jobs that are larger than expected. Our truck team will call you 15 to 30 minutes before the time slot you have booked to provide a firm arrival time.

Why is there a charge for this service?

Most services that remove items for free can only take certain things in reusable condition and often leave you with unwanted items that you have to dispose of somehow on your own. For example, we are able to dispose of mattresses and others items that may not be resold or donated. Disposal of items costs us money, so does our labor and transportation of the junk.

Are you licensed to do this work?

Owners, trucks and employees are fully licensed and insured.

Can you do the job for me if I am not on site?

Customers should be on site when trucks arrive. We call 15 to 30 minutes before arrival to let you know we are on the way. If you are unable to be on site, the drivers review pricing on arrival and call you for confirmation. They accept credit cards over the phone.

I really need this job done but it can only be after hours. Can you do that?

Contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss your options. Special arrangements can be made if required.

Do you charge extra for any items?

Yes. Certain items such as tires have landfill surcharges and we must charge extra for these items. Demolition or construction debris may also encounter a surcharge based upon the density and weight of the junk. These fees are never hidden and will be mentioned upfront.

Do you charge extra for any services?

Yes. If demolition, disassembly or extensive sorting and packing is required, $50 per 1/2 hour will be charged in addition to the volume cost of the junk removal.

What is your service area?

Please view our coverage area map. We do service outside of the coverage area, however mileage fees may apply.
